In The Game
The home stages a cheap, bizarre funeral for a slasher movie starlet who
overdoses during the premiere of her latest film, Whack-Job. David and
Nate receive disturbing medical news. Ruth invites her offspring and
their partners to dinner with her and Nikolai – which is disrupted by
Nate's E trip. Brenda falls out with a successful author, and David
blows a blind date.
Out, Out, Brief Candle
Nate is spooked by the death of a 20-year-old college football player
from heatstroke during training. Federico requests a loan so he can put
the deposit down on a house – but David and Nate spend their spare
cash on a new casket wall instead. Kroehner Corp's Mitzi Dalton Huntley
(Julie White) pays a visit, Brenda is reunited with old flame Trevor (Tuc
Watkins), and Keith is distraught about his drug-dependent sister Karla.
The Plan
A psychic (Mare Winningham) doesn't want to let go of her late husband.
Ruth is put into an uncomfortable position at a self-actualization
seminar. Brenda gives her college tutor a hard time. Nate is unhappy
about the lack of sex with Brenda, while David gets closer to Keith
again. Claire freaks over Gabriel's disturbing behavior.
Driving Mr Moss Back
Claire and Nate stay with Nate's old flame Lisa (Lili Taylor) when they
go to Seattle to retrieve the body of a man who died during a bus tour
and had a fear of flying. Brenda's mother suspects her husband is being
unfaithful. David baby-sits Keith's troublesome niece Taylor (Aysia
Polk).
The Invisible Woman
Ruth becomes obsessed with a woman who died with no friends or
relatives. Brenda helps out prostitute Melissa (Kellie Waymire), one of
her massage clients, and makes Nate an offer. Claire is shocked by her counselor
(David Norona). David dates solicitor Benjamin – but then
has to help Keith who is distraught after shooting a man.
In Place Of Anger
Ruth's irresponsible estranged sister Sarah (Patricia Clarkson) pays an
unexpected visit. David's three-week-old relationship with Ben is ruined
by his love for Keith. Fisher & Sons compete with Kroehner Corp for
the funeral of a man who fell off a boat, but Mitzi Dalton Huntley is
still desperate to buy up their business. Nate and Brenda announce their
engagement.
Back To The Garden
Nate seeks help from a female rabbi who is conducting the funeral of a
man who died in shame. Claire spends the weekend with Aunt Sarah and
some freaky hippies. David and Keith are thrown together, Federico is
disgusted by his cousin Ramon, and Brenda is craving excitement.
The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year
It's Christmas – and the first anniversary of Nathaniel's death.
Brenda is shocked by her mother's Christmas guest – who also becomes
Claire's internet lover. Meanwhile, Nikolai has an accident, Brenda
finds out about Nate's medical problem and a biker gang holds a funeral
at the home while the family, and their guests, have lunch.
Someone Else's Eyes
Ruth is getting fed up with looking after Nikolai, especially when she
finds out how he broke his legs, Brenda and Nate have doubts about their
engagement, but David is pleased to renew his relationship with Keith.
The Secret
Keith's sister Karla tells David a secret, Ruth is keen to make the
running with Nikolai, Nate deals with the news that former girlfriend
Lisa (Lili Taylor) is pregnant with his child, Claire upsets her
brothers by photographing the dead, and Brenda's sexual experimentation
takes her to a swingers' party.
The Liar And The Whore
Rabbi Ari's advice leads to problems between Nate and Brenda. Ruth comes
to the rescue of debt-ridden Nikolai. Federico is suspicious about an
old woman's death. Kroehner Corp is behind a lawsuit taken out against
Fisher & Sons.
I'll Take You
Keith's relationship with David is in jeopardy as they clash over Kayla,
Claire gets help from the reformed Billy, Federico is upset when an
elderly neighbor dies, Ruth is fed up with Nikolai, and the tensions
between Nate and Brenda boil over.
The Last Time
Officials suddenly turn up to inspect Fisher & Sons. Ruth quits her
job, Claire has an interview for art school, Keith and David have
problems, and the future of Nate's relationship with Brenda is in doubt.
